We had a great weekend with Kristy, my college roommate! Here are a few pictures we got while she was here.
So glad she was able to come see us for a few days!

The name of our guest room comes from Anne of Green Gables, when Aunt Josephine tells Anne, “If you come to town for a visit, I will put you up in my very sparest of spare rooms.”
I’ve been getting our spare room ready for my friend Kristy coming this weekend! I think it would be so fun to run a bed and breakfast someday, so I look at times like these as great opportunities to practice. Here is what our spare room is looking like this fall!
And for those of you who are curious, here is our menu for the long weekend!

Sunday

Guess what I’ve been doing today? I guess my title gave it away. 🙂 I’ve been doing some fall cleaning and decorating! Yep, around here, September 1st means I can drag out my pumpkin collection and start lighting cinnamon candles! I’ve enjoyed adding some touches of fall around our house, and the decorating spree has actually made me want to clean.
Here’s a little look at our fall mantle as it currently stands (I love to rearrange, so I can’t promise it will stay this way all fall!).
Has anyone else started decorating or am I the only early bird?
