Farmer’s Market Love

June 23, 2014 by Aliesha

Last weekend we went to Richmond because Tad was asked to preach at his home church.  Saturday, we got to spend the day with Angela and her family.

In the morning, we went to an amazing farmer’s market.  I was in love!  Beautiful, fresh produce everywhere, plus eggs, meat, cheese, honey, flowers, soap, handmade goods, food trucks, and much more.  It’s a pretty big deal, so there were tons of other people there (and lots of pups too!).

I had heard that these donuts from Mrs. Yoder’s were fantastic, and they definitely lived up to their hype!

Piping hot, glazed sourdough donuts 5″ across… I’d sell my birthright for one ANY day.

Like I said, the produce was so gorgeous!

So were the flowers!

I ended up buying some fresh eggs and locally-made soap.

We all had a great time!

I think this was Jude’s first trip to a farmer’s market!

Do you have a great farmer’s market in your city?  Do you shop there frequently?  My sister-in-law goes almost every week!  (Can you blame her?)

Father’s Day Picnic

June 17, 2014 by Aliesha

We had a great Father’s Day spending time with our family!  We invited Tad’s family to meet us at the state park we recently visited.

Vera and Tad went out really far into the water (but fortunately, it’s quite shallow).  Cordelia still wasn’t too interested in getting wet, but she did briefly put her toes in the water.

My little curlyhead!

We had the best picnic dinner!  Tad’s mom always makes fantastic food.

We had burgers on the grill as well.

I told them to “act natural.”  Pretty normal.

We all had a great time catching up!

Hope you were able to have some family time over the weekend as well!

Memorial Day Weekend & “Beach” Trip

May 31, 2014 by Aliesha

Over Memorial Day weekend, my sweet friend Kristy (my roommate from my freshman year of college) came to visit our family!  This is her third time visiting us (first time here and second time here).  So far, I’ve added another baby every time she’s come!  I hope our “busy” kiddos weren’t too much for her!

We had a great time over the weekend picnicking, shopping, talking, going to church, hanging out, and visiting new places.

On Memorial Day, we went to a state park not too far from us where we got to hang out on this beautiful beach!

It’s a river, but it has small waves and a sandy beach, plus the swimming area is shallow very far out.

Vera absolutely loved the water!  We didn’t pack swimsuits, so we just waded out to our knees.

We promised Vera we’ll bring her swimsuit next time!

This kind of counts as Jude’s first beach trip!

He thought the water was pretty cool.

The girls loved spending time with Kristy.

We packed chocolate chip cookies in our lunch, so that’s what’s all over CC’s face, not dirt.  She didn’t want to get in the water at all, but maybe next time she will!

It was so fun spending time with Kristy while she was here!

Did you spend any time outside last weekend?  The weather was PERFECT here!
