First Time a Flower Girl

May 21, 2014 by Aliesha

Last weekend, Vera was asked to be a flower girl for a couple (Bethany and Rickie) that we have known since Tad started at his previous ministry position.  They attended our in-home Bible studies (like this one), and we are also friends with their respective families.  Vera was so happy to be a part of their special wedding day.

It was so good to see Sarah, Kara (below), Matt, Kimberly, and so many of our other friends from our former church.

Vera did such a great job (with lots of bribing and a little threatening) as the flower girl.  We were very proud of her doing something so brave!

Jude was popular with the ladies.

Congratulations, Rickie and Bethany!

I sometimes wonder if we’ll EVER again get a family photo where everyone is looking at the camera all at once!

Celebrations

May 19, 2014 by Aliesha

I think it stresses Tad out a bit, but Mother’s Day and my birthday usually fall within a day or two of each other.  Here’s how we celebrated those special days!

After church on Mother’s Day, Tad took us to Moe’s (one of our family’s favorite restaurants when it comes to taste, kid-friendliness, healthiness, and speed of food arrival).

My sweet CC fell asleep on the way home.

Jude was happy after his nap, and enjoyed showing off how long he can sit up on his own!

Jude and CC brought me these flowers from church.

That night, Tad cooked hamburgers and corn on the cob!  Such a perfect summer meal.

My birthday was last Tuesday, and Tad made my day so special!  He cooked breakfast for me.

He got me a lovely bouquet of flowers.  Jude had slept quite poorly the night before, so it was nice to wake up to birthday surprises!

I had all kinds of fun mail to open!

We all went out to lunch to our favorite local Italian restaurant.

I got my usual – the Philly Cheese Steak!  The girls split a stromboli (their favorite).

We had salted caramel gelato for dessert.  Amazing!

Tad made a delicious dinner – Chicken Parmesan and garlic bread!  It’s one of the best meals he’s ever cooked.

The girls were so sweet on my birthday, singing to me and giving me lots of extra hugs and kisses.

I am so blessed so have such a thoughtful husband who made these occasions so special!

Unrelated photo but had to share… Vera thought putting this pink hat on Jude was hilarious!

Dining Al Fresco

May 7, 2014 by Aliesha

On Monday, we enjoyed a delicious meal outside in the backyard!  The weather was perfect!

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I made carnitas (Mexican pulled pork), homemade tortillas, cilantro lime rice, fresh corn salsa, roasted peppers, and lemon cake.

Tad and I really loved the meal, but the girls were so distracted by being outside that they didn’t eat a lot.

Jude was quite happy on a quilt in the grass!

There was lots of dancing, as is fitting for any fiesta!

Have you eaten outside lately?
