Weeks Thirty/Thirty-One

July 1, 2013 by Aliesha

I had an appointment with my midwife last week and everything looks great!  I was a little surprised by my weight gain since my last appointment, but it’s normal for me to put on a good bit during the “home stretch.”  My midwife didn’t seem concerned.

Baby Punkin’ is head-down, so we praise God for that!  He continues to be active and his heartbeat is in the 130’s-140’s.

The humidity has really been sapping me of energy lately!  I can take the heat, but this humidity is exhausting!  I am thankful for the rest I am able to get each afternoon.  And AC!  I am very thankful for AC!  So far I’ve avoided any swelling in my feet/ankles, and I am very thankful for that.  At this point in Vera’s pregnancy (also during the summer), my feet looked like balloons!

We appreciate your prayers!

Weeks Twenty-Eight/Twenty-Nine

June 17, 2013 by Aliesha

Thanks for your prayers that my glucose test would go well!  My results came back and I do not have gestational diabetes.  I’m thankful!

This has been a better week physically, but I’ve also gotten more rest than usual.  I really feel so much better at the end of the day if I’ve taken the time to rest in the afternoons (even just reading for a little bit).  I’m going to keep trying to make an effort to do that!

Tad and I decided on a name (first and middle) we both love.  Of course we always wait to share that until the actual birth, so you’ll have to wait another 12-13 weeks.  ðŸ™‚  (Yes, I’m already planning on going “past-term.”)

I’ve been doing some back exercises that have helped my back feel better.  If anyone’s interested in learning about those, maybe I’ll do a post.

I feel like we have a lot to prepare before Baby Punkin’ arrives!  (Though not as much this time as the first two babies… no major room re-dos.)  Pray for us as we get the house in order and stockpile freezer meals.

Weeks Twenty-Six/Twenty-Seven

June 3, 2013 by Aliesha

I’m officially starting the THIRD TRIMESTER!  I’m excited, you guys!!  At the same time, though, I’m beginning to feel very nervous about having three little ones this fall.  All the comments I get about having my hands full now aren’t exactly helping inspire any confidence in me either.

I’m doing some back stretches/exercises that I am hoping will begin to help with the extreme back pain I’ve been experiencing the last few weeks.  I’m trying to improve my posture and do what I need to do to help my body adjust to all the extra weight in the front.

I’m going to see my midwife this week for my checkup and glucose test.  Praying everything is okay!

Baby boy is moving a lot, per usual.  Last week Vera listened to his heartbeat with my at-home dopplar.  She is getting excited about her new baby brother!  Cordelia is blissfully ignorant, but I know she’ll love him too.

Thank you for praying for us and our sweet boy!
