Weeks Twenty-Four/Twenty-Five

May 20, 2013 by Aliesha

I’m now 25 weeks pregnant!  I actually had to look it up today since I’d forgotten how far along I was.  Funny… I kept track to the day with Vera’s pregnancy, and now I hardly know what week I’m on!  I guess I’m a little more aware now that the baby will come in his own time, not mine.

Total strangers are now asking me about my new baby, so I must look pretty pregnant now.  I feel kind of huge, compared to my first two pregnancies, but I know it’s normal.  I don’t mind the weight gain or anything, but I feel like people will expect me to deliver early since I already look so big! ha!

I feel really good!  I’m tired by bedtime, but I think I would be with a 2.5-year-old and a 15-month-old even if I wasn’t also pregnant!  The back pain has been better these last couple of weeks.  I’m also still sleeping pretty well.

Our baby continues to be active.  I feel him kick a lot and yesterday I felt a somersault .. such a weirdly wonderful feeling!

Weeks Twenty-Two/Twenty-Three

May 4, 2013 by Aliesha

This weekend marks twenty-three weeks into my pregnancy!  It’s really flying by this time!

My weight gain is on track so far.  I had gained the recommended 10 pounds by week twenty, and I’ve put a little more on since then.  My belly is really expanding!  I’m wearing some maternity clothes and some regular clothes.  Maternity pants don’t stay up yet, and regular jeans are a little tight, so I’m using a Belly Band and wearing sweatpants at home a lot. πŸ™‚  I love wearing dresses because they are SO comfortable!

I’ve slept really, really well the last few nights, so I’m thankful for that.  Not drinking a ton of water right before bed helps keep me from waking up in the middle of the night.

Our baby boy is moving a lot.  I feel him flipping and kicking many times a day!  We’re still thinking about a name.

One of the best moments in the past week was when my friend Carrie came over and brought her 6-week-old boy.  He started smiling at me and I realized for the first time that maybe a baby boy might actually like me!  Baby girls are my comfort-zone, so it was nice to feel like a baby boy might like me back.  πŸ™‚

Weeks Twenty/Twenty-One

April 21, 2013 by Aliesha

I missed posting for week twenty, so this will be my summary for both weeks.

Weeks 20-21 were really hard for some reason.  I’ve been extremely tired lately (like almost first trimester level), so I’m thinking that Baby Punkin’ is growing a LOT right now!

I’m having lots of back pain, and hence difficulty sleeping.  I’m trying to have a good attitude about it and just appreciate the rest I am able to get.  It’s also not been my “prettiest” week, with breakouts and facial puffiness.  πŸ™‚

All in all, though, I am SO thankful I can carry this baby boy.  I am thrilled to meet him… and I’m excited to be celebrating the halfway point!  He is honestly going to be here before we realize it.

Thanks for your prayers!  I have a routine appointment with my midwife tomorrow.
