Week Twenty-Two

April 27, 2015 by Aliesha

Week 22

I’m halfway through this pregnancy now… can you believe it?!  People ask me how I feel all the time, and my answer is “great!”

Not much to report since the last update.  Baby Apricot moves around lots throughout the day and night, and I always love getting to feel him or her move!

The girls are still convinced Baby Apricot is a girl, and Cordelia asks almost daily when our “newborn baby” is coming.  She also kisses my belly and talks to Baby Apricot.  They are both so excited.

I’m hoping to really get to do a lot of things with my family this spring/early summer while I still have a good bit of energy!  We have lots of plans for bird zoo trips, berry picking, beach trips, library visits, and more.

I’m now stuck in between regular pants and maternity pants!  Regular ones aren’t so flattering, but maternity ones are still a bit too baggy most of the time.  Dresses and skirts for the win!

Thanks for continuing to pray for our baby!  We are blessed.

Week Twenty

April 14, 2015 by Aliesha

Week 20Well since it’s been… umm… four weeks since my last pregnancy update, I thought I’d go ahead and fill you in on how things are going!

Long story short, I am (I mean baby is) growing like crazy.  I all of a sudden have this huge baby bump!  Love it.  I’m still wearing non-maternity bottoms, but half of my tops are now maternity (mostly so people can tell I am pregnant… why else would I wear shirts with side rouching?).  I’m excited to get out all my dresses for later in the summer.

With the added weight in the front, I’m feeling a little off-balanced!  My back is hurting as I adjust, so I probably need to do some exercises to help with that.

Baby Apricot is moving lots and I enjoy those special times throughout the day when I feel him or her moving and kicking!

At our 18 week ultrasound appointment, we stood by our decision to wait until the birth to find out the gender.  Everything looked good on the ultrasound (healthy heart, brain, lungs, kidneys, etc.) and we got a great view of Apricot’s profile (sweet little lips!) and even a few waves.  Vera was fascinated by the ultrasound, but CC kept asking when the baby was coming home with us.  She’s still wrapping her mind around how long this process takes!

More and more each day I am grateful for the privilege to carry another child.  A healthy pregnancy just isn’t a “given,” but rather a gift.  I feel so thankful!

Week Sixteen

Week-16

C’mon, baby Apricot!  It’s like you’re camera shy or something!  (If you’ve seen me recently in real life you know my bump is bigger than that, haha!)

I’ve been feeling great and really enjoying this season of my pregnancy.  The second trimester is the best trimester, as far as symptoms go!

We made the decision to not find out the gender of the baby this time!  Our ultrasound will be in a few more weeks, and we will (hopefully) stay strong at the appointment and wait until the birth to know the gender!  It was a decision Tad and I came to together after lots of talking it through.  Thanks for all your input last week!

We are so thankful for our little baby growing and changing!  He or she is about the size of an avocado now.  I haven’t felt movement yet, but I also don’t lie still very much (and when I do, I’m asleep almost instantly!).  I’m looking forward to feeling those little butterflies!
