Baby Countdown Checklist

January 9, 2012 by Aliesha

it wasn’t so very long ago that we brought this sweet little one home with us!

I realized over the weekend how many things I still have on my to-do list for preparing for the new baby!  I broke down my list into smaller chunks that I can accomplish each week.  If I get ahead of schedule, all the better!

Week 34
-pre-wash new diapers (done)
-buy cloth diaper detergent (done)

Week 35
-paint nursery
-arrange care for Vera for when I go into labor
-write notes for Vera’s caretaker(s)
-deep-clean our bedroom (since Mango will be in there with us at first)
-make a new batch of laundry detergent

Week 36
-gather breastfeeding supplies (covers, pads, lanolin, nursing bras, etc.)
-get out newborn clothes
-set up nursery (move around furniture, arrange closet, hang curtains, maybe decorate a little, etc.)
-pack hospital bags (mine, Tad’s, baby’s)
-pack Vera’s bag

Week 37
-bake several loaves of whole-wheat bread and freeze
-make a few meals for the freezer
-create a freezer inventory list with cooking instructions
-stock pantry with staples (brown rice, oatmeal, etc.)
-take maternity photos (?)

Week 38
-write shower thank-you notes
-catch up (or get ahead!)

Week 39
-buy any last-minute needs (disposable diapers, etc.)
-thoroughly clean out fridge
-thoroughly clean both bathrooms
-get a haircut

Week 40
-set up pack ‘n’ play in our bedroom

Week 41
-get a pedicure (it’s my reward if I’m still great with child…ha!)

Fluffy

November 10, 2011 by Aliesha

I love how cute & fluffy my baby’s bottom looks in cloth diapers. It’s just one of the many perks of cloth diapering. 🙂

On She {hearts} It today, I posted a review of a new diaper I tried called Smartipants.  I loooove them!  Go read why I’m thinking about buying all Smartipants diapers for the new baby!

P.S. I’m also giving one away!

Fun Find

August 15, 2011 by Aliesha

Last week when I was browsing the dollar bin at Target, I came across a really neat find!  I bought a pack of these Animal Sound Cards and Vera has been thoroughly enjoying them!

There are 20 double-sided jumbo cards (on thick, glossy card stock) in a pack, and they each have a cute picture of an animal and the sound that it makes.  Vera loves when we go through the stack with her, saying the name of the animal and the sound that it makes!

This is such a fun learning activity for just $1, so I thought I’d share in case you want to pick some up too!

I was not paid or perked by Target to share about this find… I just love these cards and wanted to tell you about them!
