Week Twenty-Six

April 30, 2010 by Aliesha

Click here to view last week’s photo. Click here to see my wearing this same shirt two months ago!

I am continuing to enjoy the second trimester, and I am realizing how quickly it is speeding by! I’ll be into the third before I know it.

I have a huge appetite right now, and it feels like no matter how much I eat at a meal I am hungry again 90 minutes later! It’s okay, though, because I love eating. 🙂

Baby girl continues to be active, though some days she is more active than others (though it could be that I just notice it more some days).

I think she weighs about 2 pounds now! Her eyelids (which have been closed to allow the retina to develop) will be opening soon.

I have a check-up on Thursday which will test for Gestational Diabetes and make sure everything else is okay. Praying that all is well!

Don’t Make Me Count to Three: A Review

April 30, 2010 by Aliesha

I recently finished reading Don’t Make Me Count to Three: A Mom’s Look at Heart-Oriented Discipline by Ginger Plowman. As I prepare to be a mom in just over three months, I really enjoyed reading this book on how to discipline your children in a godly way.

Instead of focusing on outward behavior, Plowman focuses on ways to reach the heart of the child and instruct him or her in the ways of the Lord. Instead of empty threats, she teaches appropriate consequences. Instead of yelling and screaming, she explains how to correct in love. Instead of lecturing, she teaches using actual verses from Scripture to reach your child’s heart.

This book is a great resource for a mom with ANY age children! It is filled with lots of real-life examples, as well as some helpful appendixes (how to lead a child to Christ, etc.).

You can purchase a copy here!

Has anyone else read this book? What are your thoughts?

I was not compensated in any way to write this review. My opinions are my own.

Wonderful Visit with Family

April 29, 2010 by Aliesha

I don’t have a lot of words left (haha), so I’m just going to say that our day was wonderful and we have some great pictures to prove it! We were so blessed by our family’s visit.

Just the girls
Just the boys
We can’t wait for their next visit!
