Cute Maternity Clothes from PinkBlush!

May 2, 2017 by Aliesha

I haven’t been great about keeping up with weekly pregnancy updates this time around. But maybe I’ll start those back up again since I’m currently in my favorite season of pregnancy! This is the time when I feel the best, I get to start wearing cute maternity clothes, and I have complete strangers come up to congratulate me on my newest little one!  Whew!  I’m past that awkward stage where people aren’t sure if I’m pregnant or not!   (I’m currently 22 weeks, for the record.)

We went on a little family outing last weekend after dinner. We went to our favorite local coffee shop to get iced Americanos for us and ice cream for the kids!

The lighting was gorgeous that evening, so Tad was able to grab some photos of me and Baby Jellybean!

Of course I wanted some photos with my other precious blessings too!

Jude was trying to lick my neck! Silly boy!

I love this sweet season with these wonderful kids. Sure, we have hard days (um… a lot!), but it’s such a blessing to get to be their mother.  Also, I will now permanently remember that this is the season in which Jude insisted on sticking his tongue out in all pictures!

Preparing for Baby: Our New Evenflo Travel System

March 21, 2017 by Aliesha

Thank you to Evenflo for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.

I got to play pretend this week. I got to pretend we were taking our new baby Jellybean on a walk down our favorite route this week! I was testing out our new Evenflo Pivot Travel System, and it was a delight to imagine going on family walks with our sweet new one!

As soon as we found out we were expecting this time, I realized we would need a new infant car seat and stroller system, since the car seat we used for the first four is now expired. I had my eye on this travel system from Evenflo because it comes with three main components: the stroller base, the infant car seat & base, and the carriage.  (This system is called Pivot.)

The carriage is awesome because it is positionable, and you can face it towards you or away from you. You can also change the angle as baby grows! I love the large canopy to provide shade from the sun! It will be perfect for all those family walks this fall!

The stroller is easy to push and maneuver, and I love the storage basket beneath (easy to access)! I also love the cupholder!

I’m seriously getting so excited to use my new travel system!

The infant car seat that comes with this Evenflo travel system is just wonderful! It is crash tested and meets or exceeds all federal safety standards, and I can trust that it is completely safe for my little one on the way!

The car seat easily clicks into the stroller base so if baby is sleeping I can not disturb him or her! Love how easy that transition from car to stroller is.

See this big smile? That’s because I just realized that in a few months, I’ll have an adorable, snuggly baby to buckle into this seat! And, since my babies tend to be “good sized” (in other words, rolly polly), I’m glad that this car seat is relatively light-weight on its own! It’s strong and sturdy, for sure, but carrying it doesn’t feel like a chore. That’s a huge bonus when my babies tend to come out too big for newborn sized clothing!

I love how easily the stroller folds up! It’s like magic. So simple to do (and simple is a big selling point for this busy mom)! When folded up, it is very trim, too! I can easily fit it in the back hatch so it can go everywhere with us!

Getting our travel system is just one more thing we can check off our to-do list as we prepare for baby Jellybean’s arrival! So excited to meet this little one and introduce him or her to our neighborhood!

Season of Transitions

November 21, 2016 by Aliesha

Lily Jade diaper bag: the diaper bag that transitions with you through every season of motherhood & beyond. | Feathers in Our Nest

Theodore started walking a LOT this past week.  He’d taken some steps before that, but this past week his confidence exploded and he’s been exploring his surroundings in new ways.  He’s wearing jeans and tennis shoes and looking just about as cute as can be!Lily Jade diaper bag: the diaper bag that transitions with you through every season of motherhood & beyond. | Feathers in Our Nest

This transition from crawling to walking is so fun.  It’s such a joy as a parent to watch your child grow in independence!Lily Jade diaper bag: the diaper bag that transitions with you through every season of motherhood & beyond. | Feathers in Our Nest

He is also nursing less and less, and I know these precious days of nursing him may be numbered.  I’ll nurse him as long as he wants, but he’s showing signs of weaning soon.  At this point, he seems to much prefer a plate full of solid food to milk!Lily Jade diaper bag: the diaper bag that transitions with you through every season of motherhood & beyond. | Feathers in Our Nest

So while Theodore still lets me cuddle him before bed and run my fingers through his baby hair, I’ll soak up every moment.  The transition from baby to toddler is good and natural, but some days I get a bit emotional about it!Lily Jade diaper bag: the diaper bag that transitions with you through every season of motherhood & beyond. | Feathers in Our Nest

My Lily Jade diaper bag has transitioned too: from carrying a handful of bitty diapers, a nursing cover, several changes of clothes, and a few burp cloths, to now carrying a single size 4 diaper, some crayons, a handful of band-aids, and a few snacks.Lily Jade diaper bag: the diaper bag that transitions with you through every season of motherhood & beyond. | Feathers in Our Nest

I love my Lily Jade Elizabeth for that reason (among other reasons, naturally).  It is the bag that grows with you.  Whether packed with bottles and onesies, or Hot Wheels and a family read aloud, a Lily Jade bag works beautifully for any season of motherhood and beyond.Lily Jade diaper bag: the diaper bag that transitions with you through every season of motherhood & beyond. | Feathers in Our Nest

Lily Jade is celebrating Thanksgiving with a Black Friday sale that begins now (and I have insider info that this is most likely going to be the final discount code of 2016) and IT’S A GOOD ONE! 10% off a Lily Jade is huge, especially because their everyday price is such a great value…bags of similar quality retail for much, much more, and definitely don’t have the insert AND the backpack conversion option. Lily Jade’s new bags are shipping NOW, so don’t wait to order your Christmas gift to yourself! Many of the most popular styles will be gone by the middle of December. Go here to nab your discount codes!
