Yard Sale Before and After

October 14, 2010 by Aliesha

I found this little table for a few dollars at my neighbor’s yardsale last weekend!  Of course I had to paint it.  🙂

Here’s the new look:

I think it helps create a bit of an “entryway” in our house where there was not one before (our front door opens straight into our living room).

Do you like the owls I added to my fall wreath?

Easy Fall Wreath

October 8, 2010 by Aliesha

Here is a little fall wreath I whipped up in 5 minutes!

Start with a grapevine wreath (a few dollars at Michael’s or A.C. Moore).  Add a fall leaf vine ($1 at Dollar Tree) and wrap/tuck it around so it looks pretty (use hot glue if you need it).

Voila!  A simple touch of fall for under $5 and under 5 minutes!

Flower Ring

August 30, 2010 by Aliesha

A few weeks ago I made this simple little flower ring. I think it turned out well!To make one yourself…

You will need:
sheer fabric (organza or something similar)
scissors
candle
pearls or beads for the center
needle and coordinating thread
hot glue gun
ring base (find them at Michael’s or AC Moore and use a coupon)All you have to do is:
Cut circles out of sheer fabric. For my ring, I used 9 circles. They don’t have to be perfect circles, but they should vary in size. Hold the edge of the fabric near a lit candle so that the edges melt a little and curl up. Layer all your circles together and stitch through all the layers once to hold them together. Sew pearls or beads in the center and knot off your thread in the back. Adhere your flower to a ring base with a dab of hot glue.Have fun!If you’re not the creative type, I have a similar ring for sale in my etsy shop!
