My Favorite Things to Buy at Grove Collaborative

September 23, 2016 by Aliesha

What to Buy at Grove Collaborative: The Best Products for the Natural Home | Feathers in Our NestOnce upon a time (about a year ago), I signed up for a Grove Collaborative (then ePantry) membership during one of their special deals (similar to the one happening right now… read on!).

I expected that I would get the special offer, then cancel my membership.  BUT, here we are, one year later, and I’m still a devoted customer of Grove Collaborative!  I just love that I can customize what I need each month and make changes right up to the time my order ships.  The customer service is phenomenal, and I can’t say enough good things about the company and the people who run it!

I thought you might enjoy seeing a list of my favorite things so you know what to buy at Grove Collaborative!  I obviously don’t buy all of these things every month, and this isn’t an exhaustive list of everything I’ve ever gotten.

What to Buy at Grove Collaborative

What to Buy at Grove Collaborative | Feathers in Our NestSeventh Generation Dish Soap

I have sensitive skin, and this is one dish soap I’ve found that doesn’t irritate my skin.  I also get the dish soap refill, since it’s an even better deal than the smaller bottles.

Caldrea Dish Soap

I got hooked on this over the summer, and it looks SO pretty next to my kitchen sink!  I love the Ginger Pomelo scent.

Caldrea Hand Soap

Again, this looks gorgeous in my kitchen and smells amazing.  Love it!

I keep buying this in ALLTHESCENTS as well.  It’s fun to change out the soap in our guest bathroom to fit the season!  The new fall scents are excellent (especially Apple Cider).

Mrs. Meyers’s Multi-Surface Cleaner

I’m obsessed with this stuff.  I have it in several scents, and I love the light, clean smell it gives to my kitchen when I use it for cleaning!

I am totally hooked on the basil scent of this bar soap.  It’s so fresh and clean! What to Buy at Grove Collaborative | Feathers in Our Nest

Grove Collaborative Soy Candle

I love how these soy candles burn clean and add a lovely, not-too-strong fragrance to my home.  I have all the scents, but my personal favorite is Vanilla + Sandalwood.

Grove Collaborative Kitchen Towels

These towels are so soft and strong, and I keep buying them!  They come in a few colors.  They wash up SO nice!

Acure Organics Shampoo

In the last few months, they started carrying the whole line of Acure Organics shampoos.  The Volume Shampoo and Conditioner work great with my hair!

Acure Organics Argan Oil

Speaking of Acure Organics, I adore the Argan Oil!  This stuff lasts a loooong time because you don’t need much.  After oil cleansing (with jojoba oil), I apply a bit of Argan Oil to my face when I need a bit of extra moisturizing.  I also apply it to the ends of my hair (after washing, when mostly dry but still a bit damp) when it’s feeling dry.

Acure Organics Eye Cream

I probably will never run out of this, since you don’t need much!  I apply this at night several times a week.  So nice!

I really could go on and on talking about favorite Grove Collaborative products!  I never thought I’d love their subscription service so much, but I do.

Besides the wide selection of products, the fast shipping, and the wonderful customer service, one other thing I love about Grove Collaborative is that they package everything so well!  They carefully tape the lids of the products and pack things upright in a box so that everything stays where it should. What to Buy at Grove Collaborative | Feathers in Our Nest

Essential Oils for Kids: Review of Rocky Mountain Oils Kids Line

September 6, 2016 by Aliesha

Rocky Mountain Oils essential oils for kids - how to use essential oil blends for children | Feathers in Our NestI think this may be the most excited I’ve been about a product launch!  Rocky Mountain Oils launched (last week) a brand new line of essential oils for kids!  These roller bottles come in ten different blends and are formulated for kids ages two and up.  The essential oil blends are diluted to 2%, and are all made with oils safe to use with children over age two.Rocky Mountain Oils essential oils for kids - how to use essential oil blends for children | Feathers in Our Nest

Maybe you’re the type who loves to DIY.  You buy the essential oils, the carrier oils, and the roller bottles, and you blend them yourself.  If that’s you, go for it!  But if you’re the type who wants to be able to start using essential oils right now (straight out of the package from RMO!), then this new line is made for you!  There’s no counting drops or blending or labeling.

Everything is ready to go so that you can get started right away using essential oils for kids.

(Can we pause for a second and talk about how crazy cute the packaging is? You shouldn’t choose your essential oils based on labeling, but these are GORGEOUS.)Rocky Mountain Oils essential oils for kids - how to use essential oil blends for children | Feathers in Our Nest

The wonderful thing about this new line… it’s not just for kids!  The whole family can use and enjoy these pre-blended, pre-diluted oils!  (I’ve already used a few of the blends myself!)Rocky Mountain Oils essential oils for kids - how to use essential oil blends for children | Feathers in Our Nest

Rocky Mountain Oils Essential Oils for Kids:

Bug Away

This blend is formulated to protect children from bug bites. Smells woodsy and nice.  We’ll apply this one to wrists, ankles, and necks when we’re adventuring outdoors!

Ouchie

This is a go-to blend for scrapes, bruises, and other minor injuries.  We’ve used it several times already!  Has a comforting, citrusy scent.  Apply wherever needed!

Immunity

With cold and flu season upon us, I know this blend will get lots of use!  It’s great for helping strengthen immune systems and has a medicinal scent. Apply to the feet.

Breathe

This blend is for coughs and respiratory issues.  Just smelling it from the bottle is nice, but you can apply it to the back or chest.  It has a bright, cedar scent.

Clear Head

Formulated for headaches, this oil has already come in handy at our house!  It smells like fresh basil and citrus.  Apply to the back of the earlobes.

Concentrate

This blend is one of my favorites because of how it smells.  Helpful in aiding concentration, this blend will be great for school time!  I will probably use it myself quite a bit.  I like the smell of the vetiver in it.  Apply to the back of the neck.

Tummy Time

My kids love how this smells… like ginger and citrus.  So sweet and comforting.  It will be great for tummy troubles!  Apply to the stomach or abdomen.

Muscle Soothe

I’ve already used this one on my husband for lower back pain and on myself for a neck-ache.  It felt better very quickly!  It will be good to use when the kids complain of muscle aches.  It has a soothing scent that I love.  Apply where needed.

Counting Sheep

We love this blend!  It is wonderful for sending children off to sleep and promoting relaxation.  It smells amazing… you can definitely tell it has sandalwood in it!  Apply to feet or back.

Skin Balance

This blend is for soothing irritated skin. I’m trying it on the kids’ eczema. This has a calming, relaxing scent.  Apply on rough skin.

The ones I think we’ll use the most at our house are Ouchie, Immunity, Clear Head, Tummy Time, and Counting Sheep.

In deciding what to purchase for your family, think about the most common ailments at your house.  Maybe you have a child who has trouble sleeping, another child with some eczema and skin issues, and you want to keep your family’s immune system strong this fall.  Then go with Counting Sheep, Skin Balance, and Immunity.  You can always buy more later once you try a few blends first!
