Herbs

June 7, 2011 by Aliesha

Let’s face it: I’m a terrible gardener!  I wish I could grow an amazing garden each summer, but I’m just waiting for “the right year” haha.

I at least wanted to be able to have fresh herbs this year, so I grabbed some basil, oregano, and cilantro (my three favorites).  They are on our back porch where they get plenty of sunlight (they need 8 hours of sunlight a day, which they just wouldn’t get in my kitchen).  I occasionally remember to water them, and we’ve already enjoyed harvesting some of each of them for various culinary purposes!

Do you grow herbs?

I really want to grow herbs! I tried ‘inside’ and failed but you and Angela inspire me to try again OUTSIDE! Thanks

I always think about growing herbs, and then forget about it. We have so much going on in the garden, it kind of gets put to the side. But oh how I love fresh basil with fresh tomatoes diced up and sauted. I know it’s never too late. Maybe I should buy a few packets of seeds.

Thank you for the inspiration. Yours look to be doing great. And for gardening, start out small. Or even in pots. Tomatoes and/or zukes are super easy as well as green beans.

    Good luck!
