Menu Monday

June 7, 2010 by Aliesha

I’m keeping it simple here this week regarding menus! I haven’t had lots of energy lately and haven’t had much desire to spend hours in the kitchen! (Believe it or not, sometimes I actually DO have that desire!) We’re eating lots of things out of the freezer (mostly from our Angel Food box), so I expect our grocery bill will be a little lower this week.

Monday
Lunch: turkey wraps on spinach tortillas, veggies, fruit
Dinner: ham, Italian fried potatoes, green beans

Tuesday
Lunch: ham, eggs, toast, juice
Dinner: rib eye steaks, oven fries, salads

Wednesday
Lunch: sandwiches, salads, hard-boiled eggs
Dinner: pork chops, baked potatoes, corn

Thursday
Lunch: pork lo mein
Dinner: fish fillets, oven fries, steamed veggies

Friday
Lunch: burritos, black beans
Dinner: chicken kiev, baked potatoes, broccoli

Saturday
Lunch: planned leftovers
Dinner: turkey spaghetti sauce, pasta, garlic bread, salads

Sunday
Lunch: spaghetti, bread, salad

Week Thirty-One

June 4, 2010 by Aliesha

If you’re curious about last week’s photo, click here. Sorry this week’s photo is so dark.

Anyway, things are going well with our pregnancy, and things are coming together for our nursery! If you missed my most recent post about our nursery progress, click here. We picked up our crib (a gift from Tad’s parents) this week and we also got a changing table and a glider rocker/ottoman (gifts from my parents)! We feel so blessed. Here’s a picture of me trying out the new rocker. Isn’t it pretty? (And the cat found a way to sneak into this picture…)Baby girl is getting bigger! I can tell from the way her kicks and punches are getting harder! I love feeling every one of her adorable little movements. I can really tell now where she is laying (usually on the left side), and I can often tell where specific body parts are (elbow, foot, etc.).

I’ve felt a little out of breath recently, but I read this is because my lungs are compressed by our baby and so they don’t fill up as much with each breath as they normally do. I sometimes have a little back pain and I often feel tired, but that’s to be expected. Otherwise, I’m really feeling great!

I’ve been working on a hospital bag packing list… any essentials I might have missed?

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!
