Youth Camp

July 7, 2010 by Aliesha

We spent last week at camp with six of the youth from our church. Tad did a great job organizing the trip and leading the students while we were there. We thoroughly enjoyed the teaching at Crossroads (Clayton King and Matt Orth are awesome), and the staff was just wonderful. Our youth all learned a lot and had a great time, and we loved being there with them and hearing how God was working in their lives!

Here are a few pictures from the week.

This first picture was taken the morning we left for camp. As you can tell, we are not exactly morning people!

Car Trouble… Round Two

July 7, 2010 by Aliesha

Less than two weeks ago, Tad’s Mustang (our primary car for day-to-day, work, ministry, and out-of-state travel) broke down about 45 minutes from our home on our way to Virginia. We were able to get it towed home inexpensively, but we have not gotten it fixed yet since we immediately jumped in the Jeep and drove to Virginia, then to Pennsylvania for a wedding, then home again and off to youth camp for a week (we took the church van to youth camp)! After that we drove to Virginia again for another wedding. We have been driving the Jeep since we’ve been back home and hoping to get the Mustang into the shop soon so they can fix it (it’s most likely an issue with the transmission).

Yesterday, we were in a nearby town buying food for a youth event and we started to have car trouble with the Jeep. Long story short, we got it to Advance Auto and I helped Tad replace the serpentine belt (which was melted/burnt/etc.). However, we ultimately discovered the real problem is a tiny broken piece called a Power Steering Pump Bracket. (Never heard of it? Me either.) Tad is trying to find the part today and hopefully install it as well.

We are trusting the Lord during this time, and we know He will continue to provide for and take care of us!

Summer Wedding: Joel and Mallory

July 5, 2010 by Aliesha

This weekend we had the privilege of attending the wedding of Joel and Mallory Musser (our third wedding in 5 weeks!). Mallory and I have been friends since high school, and she will always have a very special place in my heart!
Their wedding ceremony was beautiful and very God-honoring. The reception was also lovely and so much fun!
It was great to get to be there for their special day.
Mallory looked GORGEOUS!
Tad took this picture of me in the garden outside the reception hall. (I’m just over 35 weeks pregnant in this picture.)
It was a beautiful day!
