Date Night

September 21, 2012 by Aliesha

Tad planned a wonderful date night for us last night (first one sans baby since Cordelia was born!) and I wanted to share a few pictures from it.

Grammy came down to watch the girls for us, which was so sweet of her!  We’re still arguing over who got the better end of that deal.  Vera was clinging to us before we left, but she had an awesome time with Grammy.

Tad took me to my hair salon first so I could get a much-needed haircut (also the first one since Cordelia was born).  The sky was gorgeous on the way to dinner.

We went to a fun restaurant we’d never been to before and ordered food we’d never tried before!  Tad got Pad Thai Noodles with Shrimp, Pork, & Chicken.

I got Mongolian Beef, served with pitas, slaw, and sweet potato fries.

I loved my new haircut, by the way.

After dinner we went to Fresh Market and walked around (shopping is fun without babies in tow!) and got some coffee.

We had a wonderful time together and laughed a lot!

Birthday

March 4, 2012 by Aliesha

Happy birthday, dear Tad… happy birthday to you!

Dear Tad,
I am so blessed beyond measure to have you as my husband.  You are everything I always knew I wanted in a spouse…plus more!  God has richly blessed me through your godly leadership of our family.  You are so kind, patient, and tender with me.  You truly demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in your life.  I appreciate all of the many ways you sacrifice your own desires for the needs of your family.  You are an amazing father and your daughters adore you!  I look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you.

I love you!

New Year, New You: Have More Date Nights

January 6, 2012 by Aliesha

I don’t know about you, but with having a toddler and a baby on the way, date nights with my hubby have kind of become a thing of the past!  Add in the limitation of finances (after paying for a sitter, we wouldn’t have any left to spend on the date!), and you can understand why it’s been a while since our last “real date.”

Tad and I talked about this goal together, and we decided that we will try and plan one at-home (or away from home, on the rare occasion that it works out) date night per month.  Thursdays are a good night for us since we don’t have any church services, Bible studies, or youth events (usually) going on that night of the week.

We decided that we will alternate planning the date night, which will include cooking a meal and deciding on a game or activity.  Vera goes to bed at 7pm, so we’ll just start our “date” after we tuck her in bed.  We’re really looking forward to spending quality time together!  We’re hoping to work in January and February’s date nights before Baby Mango arrives.
