Theodore’s One Month Old

September 25, 2015 by Aliesha

DSC_3488_2

Theodore is exactly one month old today!  At the pediatrician’s office today, he weighed 10 lbs. 10 oz. and was 22 inches long.  He’s nursing well and growing and developing just as he should.

Last night he slept a stretch that was 4 hours 15 minutes, followed by another stretch that was almost 4 hours.  Thankful for that (our best night yet)!

Theodore continues to be doted on by his older siblings.  They love holding him and cuddling him!

We’re so thankful for our sweet boy.

Getting Excited about Cleaning

September 24, 2015 by Aliesha

Mrs. Meyer's can be expensive! Here's how to save money on natural cleaning supplies and get excited about cleaning! (Includes a $10 off coupon...sweet!) #naturalhome #cleaning

Today I actually got excited about cleaning my toilet.  I know, right?  I am surprised too.  I still tend to have a “fall is a new year” mentality, so I get a bit of a cleaning bug in the fall.  But the main reason I was excited was that I received a shipment of natural cleaning products in the mail and I couldn’t wait to use them!

I have loved the Mrs. Meyers products I’ve bought in the past, but it’s been challenging to be able to fit them into the budget until now.  I clean with a lot of homemade cleaners (i.e. vinegar, etc.), but sometimes it’s nice to just grab a bottle of something already made (especially for the hubs… he prefers commercial cleaners)!  And the Dr. Bronner’s castile soaps are perfect for making your own homemade laundry detergent.

I was not planning on blogging about this, but with the flurry of Instagram and Facebook comments I received after posting about my order from ePantry, I decided maybe my blog readers would want to learn about ePantry too!  Apparently you also get excited about cleaning with natural products! Glad I’m not the only one.

When I first heard about ePantry, I was skeptical that it would really save me money.  I did a lot of comparing prices before I decided to give it a try, but I definitely saved a lot on this order (over the prices at Target).  These are all full-size natural cleaning products from Mrs. Meyers and Dr. Bronners, and I spent about $20 shipped to get all 8 items.  I also have to consider that me not walking into Target saves me money, since lots of things tend to jump in my cart when I step inside. New lamp? Why not? Seasonal coffee? Sure! Ahem.

I totally love everything I got this time!  Is that weird to say that about cleaning supplies? The countertop spray smells so great (rosemary!) and the toilet bowl cleaner (lemon verbena scented) worked really well.

I’ve already picked out my items for my next order from ePantry!  They have tons of natural products, not cleaning products!  They have toothpaste, feminine supplies, shampoo, cleaners, etc. I’m planning to purchase some Argan oil next time around! Brands they carry include Method, Seventh Generation, Tom’s of Maine, Acure Organics, Mrs. Meyers, Dr. Bronner’s, and a bunch more.

It’s simple to place an order… just pick out the products you want to receive and place them in your pantry.  Then, you decide how often you want your shipments to come and which products you want included.  It’s similar to how Subscribe & Save works on Amazon.com, except Amazon doesn’t offer many of these natural brands as Subscribe & Save items. You can always adjust an order before it ships, move the shipment date, or cancel it altogether.

If you’d like to give it a try, you can use this link to save $10 on your first order (it will give me a $10 credit as well…win, win!).

What are your favorite natural cleaning products?

Theodore’s Newborn Portraits

September 22, 2015 by Aliesha

Today I wanted to share some of Theodore’s newborn portraits that I took over a few days when he was about 7-10 days old.  He’s 4 weeks today, so he’s changed a lot even since these were taken!  He’s our little sweetheart and we’re really enjoying him!

I get mixed opinions on which sibling he favors, but everyone agrees that he looks like Daddy!
