Marriage Conference

October 24, 2012 by Aliesha

As I mentioned in my last post, Tad and I had the privilege of attending a marriage conference in Virginia last weekend.  My parents sent us AND kept the girls for us so we could go.  Other family members gave us money for gas and to go out to eat.  It was such a blessing to spend time together (first night away since before we had Vera!) and to benefit from the conference (Paul Tripp’s What Did You Expect? Conference).

The weekend was GORGEOUS so we spent lots of time walking outside in between the sessions so we could talk about the material we just heard.

The Hotel Roanoke is beautiful and we loved staying there.

It was so fun just to spend time together without worrying about spit up, diapers, strollers, and meltdowns.  Don’t get me wrong… we love our girls!  But having some “getaway time” was very needed for our marriage.

We went to a great restaurant for dinner before the conference.  We both got HUGE burgers (no, I’m not a “order salad at a restaurant” kind of girl… red meat for me!).

I love my handsome husband.  He’s so good to me!

We enjoyed cookies when we checked in, as well as an awesome basket of goodies that my mom sent.

The view from our room was spectacular!

I am SO thankful that God provided (through loving family members) this beautiful weekend away!

The Hotel Roanoke is old and historic… but it’s special to us because we spent the first night we were married there!

Thankful for what God has done and is continuing to do in our marriage!

Cordelia’s Eight Months Old!

October 23, 2012 by Aliesha

Cordelia is growing up so quickly!  She is starting to get really busy since she is crawling like crazy and starting to think about pulling up.  It won’t surprise me at all if she is an early walker like her sister!

Here are some milestones:
-has two bottom teeth
-slept a record 10.5 hours last night!
-likes eating solid foods, such as egg yolks, banana, avocado, sweet potatoes, potatoes, carrots, and organic rice cakes and puffs
-still nurses 7-9 times a day
-likes stuffed animals
-weighs around 21 pounds?
-can pick up ANYTHING off the floor (stray food from Vera’s dinner, fuzz, you name it!)
-has gotten up on her knees and tried to pull up on things a couple of times
-spent the night away from Daddy and Mommy for the first time last weekend (she stayed with Pops & MiMi)
-is so happy and sweet almost all of the time (people often remark that she is such a good baby!)
-dances when we sing or play music
-has the chunkiest little legs and arms… I can’t get enough of them!

We love our sweet baby CC!

Fall in Virginia

October 22, 2012 by Aliesha

We spent some time in Virginia this last weekend attending a marriage conference (post on that coming soon) while my parents watched our girls!  Before we went over to the conference on Friday, we took a little walk at the park and enjoyed the gorgeous fall weather!

Vera really loves playgrounds now (especially slides and swings)!

Cordelia was so happy to be outside in the sunshine!

We don’t have a lot of fall colors down our way yet, so it was glorious to see all the orange, red, and yellow leaves in VA!

Are you enjoying fall where you live?
