Last-Minute Person

April 28, 2014 by Aliesha

Are you a last-minute person?  Sometimes I am!  I try to plan ahead, but at one time or another, I have found myself:

-realizing at 5:30PM that I have no dinner plan
-forgetting to send a birthday card/gift until the day before
-scrambling to wrap a gift on the way out the door to a party
-running late
-buying a convenience food item because I ran out of time to make it from scratch
-wishing I had prepared better for something

I’m trying to grow in all of these areas, so I’m reading books and blogs to help me get better about planning ahead.  (A familiar quote around here: “Who you will be one year from now is most greatly influenced by the books you read and by the people with whom you spend time!”)

***SALE NOW OVER***

The Ultimate Homemaking eBook Bundle has over 78 eBooks, including books on meal planning, freezer cooking, self-discipline, healthy eating, homemaking, parenting, marriage, homeschooling, and MUCH more!  It’s the ultimate resource package for Christian women.  (To see the list of books again, view this post.)

Bought separately, they’d cost a total of $698 (not including $200+ in bonuses!). But you can have all of them for just $29.97 (Kindle, $39.97)!

If you’re like me, you’ve waited until the last day of the sale to buy.  🙂  Today’s your day!

This short video shows some of the ways the eBook bundle will help, inspire, encourage, and challenge you over the next year!

If you’re on a tight income (I hear ya!), here is a great way to save when getting this bundle:

When you order your bundle, you can buy two more for the price of just one more bundle, so you and two other friends could get your bundles for only $19.98 each!  Sweet deal!

One more cool thing that is now being offered (perfect for those living month-to-month)…
You asked, we listened. We’ve heard from many who want to buy the bundle, but simply don’t have it in the budget until May 1st. Since the sale ends for good on Monday, April 28th @ 11:59 PM, we’ve come up with a way for you to have your cake and eat it, too. From now until the sale ends on Monday night, you can choose to order the bundle but defer payment until May 1st.  You can purchase the bundle today, but your card will be charged on May 1st, 2014 in the full amount of $39.97 (Kindle version) or $29.97 (PDF version). Once it has been processed, you will receive access to your bundle.  To purchase now and defer payment to May 1, fill out an order form here: PDF or Kindle.

Don’t let this opportunity for personal growth, encouragement, and practical help pass you by!  Order before 11:59PM EST today!

Disclosure: I have included affiliate links in this post.  If you choose to buy the bundle using my links, it will help support our family and this blog. Read the fine print about this bundle and read the answers to frequently asked questions about the bundle.

Braver This Year

April 28, 2014 by Aliesha

Last spring we went to the “bird zoo” that is less than an hour away from us.  Vera was pretty scared of the birds last year (they’ll come land on your seed stick!), but when we went this spring, she had grown in her bravery!

Sometimes the birds surprise you!

Cordelia was the nervous one this year!

I got some close-up shots while I had a bird on my seed stick!

We saw LOTS of other birds too, including flamingos, which we were also able to feed.

Vera thought it was funny how they stood on one foot, so he had to try that as well.

We also saw ducks, geese, parrots, swans, peafowl, and more!

The girls rode in the stroller while Tad pushed.

Jude was quite happy on my back in my Boba!

We enjoyed a picnic lunch, and then Vera wanted her picture taken on the turtle like last year!

Admission to the bird zoo is a bit pricey, but I saved some money from a few “side-jobs” God has blessed me with so that we were able to go!

We enjoyed seeing God’s amazing creation in such an up-close and personal way!

Don’t forget: Today is the last day to snag an Ultimate Homemaking eBook Bundle!  I’ve been thrilled to see how many of you have bought a bundle so far this year!  Read more or buy now!

Weekend Perusal

April 25, 2014 by Aliesha

Hey, look! I haven’t killed my succulents yet!

This week I’ve been enjoying reading these posts, and I thought perhaps you would as well!

The Oxen Are In: “When talking about homemaking, Christian women often refer to the fact that God loves order. He created an ordered world. This is so true, and I love it. This is why I work every day to have an ordered home. But then I look outside my house and laugh – because God also created places where you have a storm of natural messes….”

Getting Through the Dry Seasons: “I am always so encouraged when I read this passage to realize that in the midst of one of the hardest seasons of David’s life he encouraged or strengthened himself in the Lord. What a reminder that in the hardest times in life that we must turn to the Lord and to His Word for strength to face what lies ahead….”

You Can’t Claim a Promise: “A promise isn’t a thing; it’s an expression of something greater. When God uttered promises in Scripture He wasn’t giving us a buffet of blankies, Band-Aids, and silver bullets. He was showing us His character….”

As far as books, here are a few that I’ve read recently or I’m reading currently:

Hospitality: The Duty of the Christian Home by Kathy @ Teaching Good Things
101 Independent Activities for Toddlers and Preschoolers by MaryEllen @ Imperfect Homemaker
No Cook Freezer Meals by Kelly @ New Leaf Wellness
Real Food on a Real Budget: How to Eat Healthy for Less by Stephanie @ Keeper of the Home

Just those ebooks alone would have cost me over $34, but I got them as part of my Ultimate Homemaking Bundle (which includes over 80 resources + bonuses and costs less than $30!).  The sale only lasts until Monday, so buy a bundle before you miss your opportunity!  Read my big post about it here.

Have a great weekend!
