A First Trimester Summary

March 18, 2017 by Aliesha

I’m back! Thank you all SO much for your encouraging words and congratulations on our recent announcement! We are so excited about this new little life God has entrusted to our family.

I thought I’d do a little recap of my first trimester, now that I’m solidly in the second trimester now! (And since I need to catch you up on the last two months of life around here!)

Without further ado…

A First Trimester Summary

4 weeks 5 days 5:02PM It’s dinner time and I’m standing in the kitchen in my pajamas eating an actual lemon. (Yep. I ate the whole thing.)

5 weeks 6 days 12:02PM I’ve been in bed all day. I can’t even.

6 weeks 0 days 5:28PM It’s possible my children think I’m dying. I’ve received 16 “Get Well Soon” cards today.

6 weeks 5 days 5:34PM I wrote a haiku.

Laying on my bed
Just trying not to vomit
First trimester woes

7 weeks 6 days 3:52 PM Vera made a list of baby names for me (“So Mama & Dadda, choos frum this list uf neyms.”)

8 weeks 3 days 2:03PM I’m at the peak of my nausea and I have burst blood vessels all around my eyes from the violent vomitting. I’ll spare you the photo.

9 weeks 3 days 4:12PM Current craving. Can’t stop; won’t stop. (Hence baby’s new nickname: Jellybean.)

10 weeks 1 day 12:20PM Felt well enough to eat my first serving of vegetables in a month. #wishIwereexaggerating

11 weeks 0 days 3:26PM Realized for the first time that I still have a December calendar hanging up in the kitchen. Today is February 10.

11 weeks 2 days 12:13PM Feeling well enough today for a picnic on the porch with my family, as well as a walk, which I regretted later due to lots of cramping.

12 weeks 1 day 8:50PM In bed. Before 9PM. Ah, bed. I love bed.

Returning to the present day…

I am 16 weeks this weekend, and I’m definitely feeling back to normal (praise hands!). January and February were rough, but the Lord was so gracious to our family and sustained us even though I was sick around the clock! Tad helped out a TON more than usual, and the kids were awesome helpers, but I know everyone is glad that mama is back to her normal routine and responsibilities!

And here’s a little “progress” photo!  This was taken at week 15.

Thanks for sticking with this ol’ blog even though I abandoned it for two months! Glad to be back. 🙂

That must have been awful for you and you family to be so sick. I have been reading your blog since before Vera was born and I don’t remember you being this ill. Glad to hear you on your way to feeling better. Hope you didn’t lose to much weight.

Thank you, Michelle! I was more sick than this with Vera, but less sick for the other three. Thankfully, I am feeling better now!

Oh goodness, you poor thing. I’m so glad you are getting to feeling better. That pregnancy nausea is no joke. Thank God for helpful husbands, right?!
