Still Wearing my Baby

March 28, 2011 by Aliesha

Just because I haven’t posted lately about babywearing doesn’t mean I’ve stopped!  I still wear Vera quite a bit.  I love using a Peanut Shell pouch sling when we’re out and about, and I also really love a mei tai that Andrea loaned me.

I haven’t worn Vera much in the Sleepy Wrap since she was little (I thought she stopped liking it), but today she was exceptionally fussy (due to lots of teething pain and gas pain), so I gave it another shot.  As soon as I put her in the Sleepy Wrap she started to calm down!  I wore her in it for about 30 minutes (until her nap), during which time she was very happy and content!  I think being that close to me really helped soothe her.

no makeup – I’m keeping it real!

I want to hear from other babywearers out there… do you/did you wear your babies after 6 months?

Oh, and right now (until 4/1/11) on She {Hearts} It, there is a Sleepy Wrap giveaway going on!

I still wear my baby boy. He just turned one, and he loves being in my wrap. He also weighs 25 lbs… so it really helps distribute his weight. Love It!!!

I can’t imagine that babies of any age wouldn’t love being so close to their mamas! (well, actually, my baby who’s turning 40 may not qualify). πŸ™‚ But babies love mamas, let’s face it!

I wore Taite until past age 2. I loved it.
Wearing him slowed down around 18 mo. tho because he got so heavy.

After age 1 I use either
    a good mei tai
    the beco or boba
a ring sling for short trips
    and occasionally my woven wrap.

Id have to say my fav is a mei tai tho & ring sling.

I love to wear my 7 month old in an Ergo when we go grocery shopping. Also, he usually hits a fussy time in the evening RIGHT when I’m making dinner, so the other night I popped him in the Ergo on my back where he was completely content as I finished what I was working on! I have a stretchy wrap and a Maya wrap but I don’t use them nearly as much as my Ergo

For sure! Emery is 13 months now, and LOVES to be worn. It’s awesome for naps during church on Sunday, as she won’t sleep anywhere but in her own bed most of the time. She konks right out in the wrap or mei tai πŸ™‚

I have found too, that when she’s fussy or really demanding attention, a carrier is the fastest way to make her happy.

To make it even more comfy for Vera, make sure her knees are higher than her bum.

My DD is 18mos and I still wear her. Not as often as I used to, but she still loves it sometimes. She is small though so that helps me out.
