Birthday Festivities

March 5, 2010 by Aliesha

I don’t have lots of pictures from Tad’s birthday festivities yesterday, but I thought I’d share what we did to celebrate.

I made him a yummy breakfast of scrambled eggs with bacon & cheese, an apple cinnamon muffin, apple juice, and coffee.

After our doctor’s appointment where we found out “it” is a “she” (which Tad said was an awesome birthday gift), we went to O’Charley’s for lunch. Tad, of course, got a steak. ๐Ÿ™‚ We shopped a little bit in Greenville for a cute baby outfit and a fun children’ book (and looked around B&N for a little while as well).

When we got home, I realized I hadn’t thawed dinner, so I rushed to get the meatloaf thawed so I could bake it. (Tad requested my meatloaf for his birthday dinner!) Tad opened his birthday cards and packages that had come in the mail while we were gone, and then spent the afternoon installing a new keyboard (a gift from me) for my old Eee PC (the one that drowned in hazelnut coffee last summer). For dinner, we had Tad’s requested menu: Italian meatloaf, garlic and herb mashed potatoes, French bread, and Caesar salads. After dinner, I gave Tad his other birthday presents from me, and we talked to our parents on the phone to make sure they had figured out that our baby is a girl! Then we enjoyed spreading the word to the rest of the world on the blog and on facebook.

Tad received the complete set of Horatio Hornblower movies for his birthday (from my family), so we watched the first one last night! It was very good.We finished off the day with mini brownie/ice cream cakes! It’s so fun to think that next year at this time we’ll have a little seven-month-old baby girl!

Hi Aliesha! Sounds like a fun birthday celebration…and you’re right, girls are MUCH more fun to shop for! ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh, and by the by there’s no such thing as TOO many comments! I love people feeding back on my posts – like having a conversation with friends which is what I wanted from a blog – you know a monologue isn’t near as interesting… So thanks for stopping by, and I love hearing from you (and reading your posts as well)! Have a great day~
