Family Announcement!

January 20, 2015 by Aliesha

On Saturday morning, we gathered the kids onto the couch for an exciting family announcement!

(Sorry for the weird lighting that covers my face!)

We were just tickled with their response!

We are so thankful to God for the precious new life that is growing inside me! Β We feel doubly blessed that this baby is healthy, since we actually had a miscarriage in November.

It was so beautiful to see/hear a strong heartbeat on Friday at my appointment.

Expected arrival of this new baby is early September, and I’m 8 weeks along right now.

(If you’re currently struggling with not being able to get pregnant or have recently suffered a loss, please know that my heart goes out to you. I wrote this post last time around, but I still feel everything in it!)

In the picture above, baby is head down, bottom up!

Later in the day on Saturday, Vera came up to me and said, “Mommy, I prayed that God would give us a new baby!” (So sweet, right?)

And still later, Cordelia came running into my room and yelled, “MOMMY! Have you had the baby yet?!”

While Tad was out at the grocery store that afternoon, I heard the girls discussing where he was.
“He went out to get the new baby,” explained CC to Vera.

Grateful for my silly girls who keep me laughing, and my incredibly supportive husband who is keeping the house running while I’m sick!

Cute! super excited and uh yea, bad light placement LOL no one can see your pretty face. I kinda secretly hope boy, for Judes sake HAHA! he needs a brother to wrestle with.

Sept is a great time to have a baby btw πŸ™‚ – although going all summer in the heat super pregnant isnt the most comfortable. I like sept birthdays because its far enough from christmas to adjust back to some what normalcy before the holidays and their birthday is away from to many holidays πŸ™‚

Yeah… and I was even wearing makeup that day, lol! If it’s a boy, I see a lot of joint birthday parties with Jude in the future! The girls are convinced it’s a girl, so I guess we’ll see!

Congrats on the pregnancy. I am sorry for your previous loss. Your story is similar to mine. Are you still breastfeeding your son? How did you get pregnant while nursing?

    • Aliesha says

      January 21, 2015 at 2:40 pm

Thank you, Barbara! Every woman’s body is different, but I’ve found that my cycle returns while breastfeeding when my babies start really going to town on solid foods. I’m still nursing Jude (16 months).

This is so wonderful!!! I’m especially thrilled to be “sharing” this pregnancy with you – you’re just ahead of me! πŸ™‚ (And I had an early miscarriage back in August, so I guess we have a loss in common, too.)

Your girls’ comments are so cute! πŸ™‚

Congratulations to your family, too, Davene! Loved your video and your boys’ excitement. So sorry for your loss in August. Blessings to you during this pregnancy!
