Week Thirty-eight

February 1, 2012 by Aliesha

For some reason, up until this week I wasn’t struggling with impatience about the baby coming.  But earlier this week I felt about 10 months pregnant and was starting to feel like the baby should be here really soon (even though with Vera I was pregnant until almost week forty-two, so another month from this point).  I’ve been really trying to be content and enjoy this time with just Vera. Yesterday I had much more of a peace about waiting a little longer for Mango to get here. For those who are praying for me for patience… thank you!

I’ve been having contractions every day this week.  Last night I think I must have cramped all night because when I woke up this morning I was so sore.  I seem to remember feeling like this during the week leading up to Vera’s birth, so maybe we’re closer than I think!

Baby Mango’s heart-rate was up a little bit at my midwife appointment yesterday.  (They said that was good.)  I came back negative for Group B Strep, so I am thankful for that as well.

The one major thing we still need to do before the baby comes is buy a van!  We think we have one picked out, but we are waiting on our tax return to purchase it (hopefully that will come this week).  We are excited to have a vehicle that will hold both of our babies plus have room for all their accessories! πŸ™‚

Full term! Yay! And it looks like you’ve dropped a bit based on last week’s picture, so maybe you won’t make it to 42 weeks this time! πŸ˜‰

You are almost there! I’m already ready to meet our little bundle, but that’s mainly because I’m still feeling icky. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will have energy and an appetite. πŸ™‚

You will LOVE having a van! It’s so much nicer to get kids in and out, and also for all the gear. I can’t wait to hear the news of little Mango’s arrival!
