Braver This Year

April 28, 2014 by Aliesha

Last spring we went to the “bird zoo” that is less than an hour away from us.  Vera was pretty scared of the birds last year (they’ll come land on your seed stick!), but when we went this spring, she had grown in her bravery!

Sometimes the birds surprise you!

Cordelia was the nervous one this year!

I got some close-up shots while I had a bird on my seed stick!

We saw LOTS of other birds too, including flamingos, which we were also able to feed.

Vera thought it was funny how they stood on one foot, so he had to try that as well.

We also saw ducks, geese, parrots, swans, peafowl, and more!

The girls rode in the stroller while Tad pushed.

Jude was quite happy on my back in my Boba!

We enjoyed a picnic lunch, and then Vera wanted her picture taken on the turtle like last year!

Admission to the bird zoo is a bit pricey, but I saved some money from a few “side-jobs” God has blessed me with so that we were able to go!

We enjoyed seeing God’s amazing creation in such an up-close and personal way!

Don’t forget: Today is the last day to snag an Ultimate Homemaking eBook Bundle!  I’ve been thrilled to see how many of you have bought a bundle so far this year!  Read more or buy now!

I’m glad ya’ll get to use the sit an stand I loved mine. So much easier with multiple kuds. Wish I had one when my older boys were babies. We plan to go to the bird sanctuary soon with the kids it looks like alot of fun.

Ronda, you were so sweet to give us the stroller. We use it all the time! You will enjoy going to the bird zoo. It’s a lot of fun!

I don’t know why but the last time we went the birds were very hungry! It made for a funny experience but quite intimidating for peyton. 🙂 It is SO pricey for a family to go to places. The first time we went there it cost almost 30? at the end a woman told us about the membership that was about 30 more giving us admission to the bird zoo, aquariums, and the Asheboro zoo. The aquarium and zoo are hrs away but going to each place once makes the membership worth it.

Yep! It was something we had to save up for, and we can probably just go once a year. Really fun, though!

The NC zoo membership is awesome because it works for the bird zoo, aqauriums, NC zoos and other state zoos as well:) There was a Groupon for the bird zoo a month ago… 1/2 price! Anyway, a fun thing to save up for and do together as a family:)
