Egg on His Face

June 3, 2014 by Aliesha

Jude experienced solid foods for the first time yesterday!

(Well, technically this is his second time eating solid foods.  Someone snuck a sugar cookie to him at the wedding two weeks ago!)

Egg yolks are a great first food!

We do baby led weaning (also called baby led solids), where we give our kids solid foods around eight months and allow them to feed themselves instead of being spoon-fed.

Jude was pretty please with his lunch!

So handsome and adorable!!!! Kamden, who’s 5.5 months, had his first taste of homemade purees last week. He gets excited any time he sees food and opens his mouth wide for the spoon. It’s hilarious. So far we’ve tried applesauce, avocado/banana, and sweet potatoes with cinnamon. I’m having fun making the purees and he’s enjoying the eating part. Later this week, we’re trying kale-spinach-avocado mixture. Yum!!!!

We did baby led weaning with Guinnyth. She did NOT want anything to do with purees. At eight months, she began solids and loved it!
