Lavender Oatmeal Bath

October 29, 2014 by Aliesha

The smell of lavender is so soothing to me!  I wanted to give my kids an oatmeal bath last weekend (several people told me it might help with their eczema), so I thought it would be nice to add some lavender as well!

I made a little bag with the lavender flowers and oatmeal inside so that there wouldn’t be anything floating around in the tub.

The kids loved the bath and I think the oatmeal was soothing to their skin!

Lavender Oatmeal Bath

3 Tbsp. old fashioned oatmeal
1 Tbsp. lavender flowers (dried)
(optional) 5 drops of lavender oil

Grind oatmeal in a food processor until powdery.  Use a spoon to scoop oatmeal into a muslin bag.  Add lavender flowers and tie shut.  Add pouch to a warm bath, adding several drops of lavender essential oil if desired.

Note: The muslin bag can be washed out and reused!

My lavender flowers were left over from a project I did from my box from Homegrown Collective!  I’ve also seen them at Mountain Rose Herbs.
