Parenting Lessons from Proverbs: Part 2

Proverbs 12:1
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
But he who hates reproof is stupid.
Lesson: Train your children to love discipline and reproof, knowing that it brings knowledge.

Proverbs 12:18
There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword,
But the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Lesson: Do not speak rashly towards your children

Proverbs 13:1
A wise son accepts his father's discipline,
But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
Lesson: Discipline your children so they may become wise.

Proverbs 13:14
The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life,
To turn aside from the snares of death.
Lesson: In wisdom, teach your children, that they may be kept from death.

Proverbs 13:24
He who withholds his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.
Lesson: To truly love your children means to discipline with the rod diligently.

Proverbs 15:5
A fool rejects his father's discipline,
But he who regards reproof is sensible.
Lesson: Discipline and reprove your children.
